Bears analyst reveals what we should expect to see from Eddie Jackson and Jaquan Brisker
One of the most interesting question marks surrounding the Chicago Bears as we approach training camp is the fate of Safety Eddie Jackson. He was truly dominant for his first few seasons as a Bear, but ever since he signed a massive contract extension two years ago, he has simply not been the same player.
However, there seems to be a glitter of hope with the new coaching staff in Chicago.
Well, here is what Bears writer Jacob Infante had to say about the situation at safety in HC Matt Eberlfus' new scheme.
The #Bears used Eddie Jackson as a deep safety on 72% of his reps in 2018, and he didn't crack 50% as a deep safety the last 2 years.
Expect that to change. A Cover 2-based scheme should allow EJax to play up high more, as well as having Jaquan Brisker who plays well in the box.
I really like that. I think this would truly allow both players to play through their strengths as much as possible. This is the key if you want to have a fundamentally sound defense that is able to put fear into their opponent's head...
