Chicago Bears undrafted rookie linebacker Jack Sanborn is currently leading the entire NFL in tackles in the last 4 weeks. Since replacing Roquan Smith, Sanborn has 45 tackles and 3 TFL's. In the loss against the Jets on Sunday, Sanborn racked up 15 (!!!) combined tackles and a tackle for a loss including 11 in the first half.
Sanborn is making a legitimate case to be the team's starting MLB next season and beyond.
Despite logging 89 tackles (16 for loss) and five sacks in his senior season at Wisconsin last year, Sanborn never heard his name called on draft day. Sanborn a Lake Zurich native found his NFL start with the Chicago Bears. And after moving Roquan Smith ahead of the NFL's trade deadline, Sanborn has been showing why he should have been drafted.
Since the trade Robert Quinn has 2 tackles and 1 QB hit.
Roquan has 27 tackles and 1 sack...
Meanwhile, Jack Sanborn has 43 tackles and 3 sacks.
