Another Bears veteran safety has been placed on IR
On Thursday, the Bears made multiple roster moves. One of them was to place safety Dane Cruikshank on injured reserve due to a hamstring issue.
Cruikshank, who is in his first season with the Bears, sustained a hamstring injury in Sunday's game against the Jets. He left the game and never returned.
The safety has played the majority of his snaps on special teams this season, playing in eight games so far. The Bears are already thin at the position after placing their stud veteran Eddie Jackson on IR Tuesday with a foot injury that HC Matt Eberflus confirmed Wednesday will end his season.
Again, Cruikshank missed Week 11 due to the injury, but he returned Week 12, where his role was limited. After avoiding the team's injury report Wednesday, the reason is evident now that he's on IR, which will put him out for at least the next four games. His first opportunity to return will be Week 18 against the Vikings. This means that his season is also, most likely, over.
