Adam Schefter reported that the New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with former Bears QB Andy Dalton on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million.
This means that the Saints and the Bears have basically swapped QB from Trevor Siemian to Andy Dalton!
Dalton played most of his career with the Bengals. He then signed a one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys. The following year, the Bears scooped him up. He started 6 games in 2021 for Chicago.
During those 6 games, he had a win-loss record of 3-3. Dalton completed 63% of his passes and had 8 touchdowns passes versus 9 interceptions.
His time in Chicago was far from being memorable but he still had a few good moments. However, it was pretty clear that he was not going to be part of the plans here since the Bears brought in Trevor Siemian.
The Saints also re-signed QB Jameis Winston a few days ago so they will potentially have a quarterback battler down in Louisiana...
Here he is trying to make his case to be the starter earlier this year:
And here is a great throw he had in crunch time versus the Baltimore Ravens:
