Adam Schefter exposes a questionable detail about the referees involved in the crucial call during the Lions vs. Cowboys game.
Adam Schefter of ESPN has brought to light a concerning revelation that reflects poorly on the NFL and its officials. During the Detroit Lions' late-game attempt at a game-winning two-point conversion against the Dallas Cowboys, offensive lineman Taylor Decker was penalized for "ineligible man downfield."
However, video evidence strongly suggests that Decker did, in fact, report as eligible before the attempt. The Lions' subsequent two-point conversion try failed, resulting in a narrow 20-19 victory for the Cowboys.
Schefter pointed out that Brad Allen's officiating crew, which handled the Cowboys-Lions game, had previously come under increased scrutiny following numerous missed calls during the Kansas City Chiefs-Green Bay Packers game in Week 13.
This revelation serves as a stark reminder of the NFL's ongoing challenges in improving the quality of its officiating system.
