ABC News Tweets Out A Horrible Report While Reporting The Death Of Former Bears RB Marion Barber
Marion Barber III, who spent his last NFL season as a Bears running back, was found dead yesterday, the Cowboys confirmed Wednesday. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said he was found in his Frisco, Texas, apartment, but did not cite a cause of death. He was 38. This was a truly heartbreaking story.
Barber backed up the Bears' Matt Forte in 2011, rushing 114 times for 422 yards and six touchdowns. «We are saddened to learn of the passing of former Bears RB Marion Barber III,» the Bears said in a statement. «Our hearts go out to his family & friends.»
However, check out this horrible statement by ABC News yesterday.

«JUST IN: MARION BARBER III, THE FORMER DALLAS COWBOYS RUNNING BACK WHO SCORED PLENTY OF TOUCHDOWNS WITHOUT RECORDING A 1,000-YARD SEASON, HAS DIED, THE TEAM SAID WEDNESDAY. HE WAS 38.»
For those of you saying that they don't see the big deal, I would tell you that it's a complete lack of respect. When a person dies, you don't have to say the "negative" things about them. It's such a disrespect to his loved ones.
ABC is taking heat from fans around the NFL world. The tweet appears to be automated from the lede for the AP story, which has since been changed. But the ABC News tweet remains up.
