The Bears' 2023 salary cap space is ridiculous at this point!

When Ryan Poles took the job as general manager of the Chicago bears a few months ago, he has the difficult task of upgrading the team with little to no cap space and a whole bunch of dead money, thanks to Ryan Pace. However, while he has not been able to bring in some amazing players, he still made a few decent acquisitions. More importantly, he was able to create a lot of cap room for 2023.

In fact, It wasn't 2022 the new GM was aiming for, but 2023. According to Over The Cap, the Bears are projected to have $93 million in cap room at the start of the next offseason, presuming another increase to the cap ceiling. This number is $23 million clear of the next closest team. What makes this even scarier is that the bears have the ability to create even more if they choose to.

Indeed, Robert Quinn, Cody Whitehair, and Eddie Jackson could all be unloaded by way of trades or released. While I don't expect Poles to get rid of them all, he has the ability to create an additional $25 million. The General manager would basically have full authority to do whatever he wanted on the free-agent market in 2023. That seems rather enticing, considering who might be available next year, especially on the offensive side of the football.

Here is a quick list of a few players that are expecting to hit the market and that could be on Poles' radar:

Deebo Samuel
Quenton Nelson
DK Metcalf
Minkah Fitzpatrick
Derwin James
Terry McLaurin
Elgton Jenkins
Bradley Chubb
Daron Payne
Jessie Bates
Hunter Renfrow
Diontae Johnson

This is just the tip of the iceberg. The free-agent class is expected to be completely loaded!

I know that times might seem a little rougher in Chicago for Bears fans, but brighter days are ahead...
