Star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's future with the San Francisco 49ers remains unclear after a trade rumor swirled on Sunday. NFL insider John Frascella reported that Aiyuk had requested a trade, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens interested.

However, Aiyuk's agent, Ryan Williams, swiftly denied the report, suggesting Frascella needed "better sources." This comes despite comments from 49ers GM John Lynch emphasizing their desire to keep Aiyuk long-term and Aiyuk's girlfriend hinting at a potential departure on social media.

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is coming off a career year with 75 receptions, 1,342 yards, and seven touchdowns. He's exceeded 1,000 yards in each of the last two seasons.




Trading Aiyuk would be a gamble for the 49ers. He forms a potent duo with Deebo Samuel, a major factor in their recent success. While trading Aiyuk could save money, replacing his production would be difficult. Aiyuk thrives in Kyle Shanahan's offense and is likely to improve further.
