JJ McCarthy receives the most devastating news of his life

Yesterday, it was revealed that JJ McCarthy would be undergoing surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his knee.

At the time of this report, there was hope that he could somehow get back on the field this year. Today, McCarthy and Vikings fans' worst fears were realized. McCarthy will miss the entirety of his rookie year.

Now, Sam Darnold will be taking over as the starting quarterback for the Vikings. Overall, this is the worst news that franchise could have gotten this morning. Only time will tell whether or not Darnold can get over the hump and have a good season.
