Ryan Poles reveals what kept the Bears from trading for Matthew Judon

Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears were looking to acquire Matthew Judon from the New England Patriots, however, they were unsuccessful.
During the latest episode of Hard Knocks, it was revealed that the team was very close to making it happen. They were willing to give up the draft pick necessary. However, Poles was adamant that he wanted Judon to have a contract extension. They couldn't get that done, so the trade fell through.
"Our language is basically saying if the contract is not signed then he reverts back to New England," Poles said. "I don't want to get the club in a position where we have a player that's here, we've given up a draft pick, and we haven't had a resolution on a contract."
