PFF Ranks Bears Linebacker T.J. Edwards Among Top 10 at His Position
PFF has recently released a slew of positional and team rankings in anticipation of the 2024 NFL season.
While the Chicago Bears were placed lower in the overall team rankings, PFF recognized the strengths of the Bears' offensive line and their receivers.
The latest release highlights the top linebackers, with the Bears' T.J. Edwards making it into the top 10. Signed by GM Ryan Poles in a shrewd move last offseason, Edwards inked a three-year deal worth $19 million. The investment has proven worthwhile as the Lake Villa product has exceeded expectations.
The statistics underscore his performance: seventh in the NFL with 155 tackles, eighth in solo tackles with 108, along with contributing 2.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, eight passes defended, three interceptions, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. Edwards' stellar play last season was a cornerstone of the Bears' defense, justifying his top-10 linebacker ranking. The Bears are hopeful that linebacker Tremaine Edmunds will also rise to similar prominence this season.
