Bears' Veteran Receiver D.J. Moore Praises Rookie QB Caleb Williams' Leadership

Whether it was Justin Fields or now with Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears' veteran wide receiver D.J. Moore exemplifies the kind of support a young quarterback needs to thrive.

Moore's talent is undeniable, but his unwavering support for his quarterback is what stands out. He supported Fields when he was the starter, and now he's backing the Bears' decision to trade their 2021 NFL Draft first-round pick for Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, who is poised for greatness.

D.J. Moore Committed to Supporting Caleb Williams

Speaking to the media last week, Moore discussed the transition from Fields to Williams and his commitment to helping Williams succeed.

"Business is business. I saw it coming," Moore said about the Bears trading Fields. "At the end of the day, he was the quarterback last year; now we have Caleb. We're gonna ride through H-E-L-L and back with him, so I'm just looking forward to seeing what he puts out."

Moore's vocal support is crucial for Williams, just as it was for Fields. This endorsement can significantly impact Williams' success in his rookie season.

Williams Supported by a Strong Offensive Cast

Unlike Fields, Williams steps into a situation with a solid supporting cast. With players like Moore, Keenan Allen, fellow first-round pick Rome Odunze, running back D'Andre Swift, and the tight end duo of Gerald Everett and Cole Kmet, the Bears' offense, under new offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, is expected to be dynamic.

Moore is particularly excited about Williams' potential. Besides his natural arm talent, Williams has already demonstrated leadership qualities in voluntary OTAs.

"You can see that the natural leadership is there, the natural arm talent is there," Moore said. "Everything about him is always positive. Even when he has a bad play, he's quick to learn from it. That's all you can ask fora quick learner who also forgets mistakes."

### Building Chemistry for a Successful Season

Moore acknowledges that there will be growing pains and mistakes. However, he emphasizes the importance of building a strong connection with Williams. The team doesn't need Williams to be the franchise savior right away but aims to develop a cohesive unit that grows and learns together. This chemistry is vital for the Bears as they head into an exciting 2024 NFL season.
