Chicago Bears have Released Statement Regarding the Passing of Former

Following the passing of former Chicago Bears QB Bob Avellini, the team has released a statement saying:

"Bob was one-of-kind, a fierce and tough competitor. áHe's perhaps best remembered for leading the Bears on an improbable run in 1977 to our first postseason appearance in fourteen years.áHe will be missed"

Avellini was a 6th-round draft pick by the Bears back in 1975. He went on to spend the next 9 seasons as a Bear. He finished his career appearing in a total of 73 games, making 560 completions, throwing for 7,111 yards, and throwing for 33 touchdowns.
Avellini passed away from Cancer on May 4th, 2024. He was 70 years old.
