This past weekend, it was reported by an NFL insider that Buccaneers All-Pro OT Tristan Wirfs and the team were not agreeing on a contract extension, meaning he may end up being a free agent or being traded:
With this in mind, this Bears insider took to X to share his thoughts, also implying that if the contract talks don't work out, then the Chicago Bears should pursue Wirfs;
Wirfs was drafted by the Buccaneers as their 1st-round pick in 2020. Since then, he has been named as a 3-time Pro Bowler, a 2-time All-Pro, and a Super Bowl champion.
Right now, Braxton Jones is viewed as the Bears' top OT, but if Wirfs becomes available, then the Bears should move on from him.
However, the Bears must decided weather or not they want to spend this kind of money, as Wirfs is likely asking for a ground-breaking extension
