Before the shocking Justin Fields trade happened, newly acquired Bears WR Keenan Allen spoke to the media about himself as a player and outlook on his new team.
After the press conference, Bears writer revealed his 3 takeaways, saying:
1- Has a lot of pride on his performance and longevity in the league.
2- Confidence in his ability to get open and be "friendly" for any QB.
3- Wants to keep wearing 13.
As read, Allen sees no evidence of himself slowing down anytime soon, and even at the age of 31, he still believes he can continue having a solid career for more years ahead.
Next, Allen had an open mind to any QB he would play with, as at the time of this conference, Fields was still the starting QB. Now, after the trade, USC QB Caleb Williams will most likely be his QB for the 2024 season.
And lastly, Williams made sure to express that he wants to keep his jersey number: 13. However, Williams wore 13 for his college career, so there may be a bit of a battle for their number once Williams is drafted.
