The Oakland Raiders have eliminated another part of their defense after releasing linebacker Bruce Irvin.

With Irvin now on the waiver wire, speculation is building that the Chicago Bears will make a move for Khalil Mack's former teammate.

Once Irvin clears he'll have plenty of suitors including the Bears.

Of course the Bears could just a put a claim in on the linebacker, however they'll then have to honor the rest of his contract which goes through next season at $9million a season.

That's why it's likely that no team puts a claim in for Irvin and the Bears could then sign him as a free agent.

Irvin was exceptional playing beside Mack in 2016 and 2017 and at his age, he'll be willing to take less snaps as long as he has a chance of winning.
