A sad story to pass along regarding a former member of the Chicago Bears.
Former linebacker Geno Hayes is currently under hospice care for liver complications.
Hayes played for the Bears, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars during his time in the NFL.
“Geno’s in need of prayers. He’s fighting for his life,” said Hayes’ former high school coach Frankie Carroll, who visited Hayes at his mother’s home in Valdosta, Georgiam, last Sunday. “It’s tough. Geno’s a fun-loving guy.”
He spent one season with the Bears back in 2012 and played 15 games registering 16 total tackles.
His health has reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.
