It wouldn't be a standard Chicago Bears season if it didn't involve a little bit of kicker drama and here we go.
The Bears and general manager Ryan Pace announced today that the team has placed kicker Eddy Pineiro on injured reserve.
Pineiro was supposed to be the team's Week 1 kicker however now it looks like they'll turn to Cairo Santos who was stashed on their practice squad.
According to reports, Pineiro has been dealing with a groin injury and didn't get much work in at training camp because of it.
Santos was signed at the end of August and hopefully he can do better than hitting the four out of nine kicks he made last year with the Tennessee Titans.
We have signed DE Mario Edwards Jr. & placed K Eddy Piñeiro on IR.@Hyundai | #DaBears
