The Chicago Bears and owner George McCaskey seem pretty focused on hiring a head coach before they hire a GM.
While we've only heard about a very small amount of GM interviews so far, the head coach interviews keep piling up and we've got another.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reports that after requesting to speak to two front office members, the Bears have requested permission from the Indianapolis Colts to speak to one of their assistants.
Pelissero reveals that DC Matt Eberflus will have an interview with the Bears and adds he's also on the Jacksonville Jaguars list of upcoming interviews.
While it's not the sexy offensive name everybody is looking for, Eberflus has created one of the most dominating defenses in the league over in Indianapolis.
So far the Bears seem to be touching on both the offensive side and defensive side regarding their candidates.
Eberflus is 51 years old and has also served as the linebacker coach for the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns.
What's interesting is that during his stint in Dallas, he also served as the passing game coordinator from 2016-17.
The #Bears put in an interview request for #Colts DC Matt Eberflus, source said. One of the NFL's most respected assistants, Eberflus also will interview with the #Jaguars on Saturday.
