Who is this Saint Omni making calls around the NFL for Roquan Smith?

Earlier today, we reported that the NFL Management Council sent a memo to teams warning of a non-NFLPA certified agent contacting teams on Roquan Smith's behalf.

We also learned that the non-NFLPA-certified agent was named Saint Omni.

Here's the statement from the NFL, via ESPN:

«Mr. Omni is prohibited from negotiating Player Contracts or discussing potential trades on behalf of any NFL player or prospective player or assisting in or advising with respect to such negotiations.»

But who is he and why is he making calls on Roquan Smith's behalf?

The information available on him is pretty slim. We know that Omni is the director of football at LifeLine Financial Group, according to an article posted by Complex a few months ago.

Saint Omni's Facebook page, which hasn't been updated in a few years lists him as a «business consultant and manager for high profile NFL Athletes and celebrities.» This is pretty vague.

Let me remind you that Roquan Smith technically does not have an agent at the moment.

This is where it gets interesting. Erik Lambert reported this key fact:

Omni's name first popped up a few years ago when he reportedly helped Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil negotiate his contract extension with the Houston Texans. This came shortly after the Miami Dolphins traded him. He claims he works for LifeLine Financial Group in Beverly Hills, California. Tunsil has no agent. Another name connected to Omni is Seattle Seahawks 1st round pick Charles Cross. He, too, is operating without an agent. Sensing the pattern yet?

This just got a whole lot more interesting!
