Was this the worst trade of the decade?

Every year, there are around 200 transactions in the NFL. Most of them are very minor. However, some trades have huge impacts. Some of them have good repercussions, and some of them, not really.

In the past few years, there have been some pretty horrible trades made by some general managers. Of course, all of these bad trades are actually great moves by the other side. The first that came to my mind are: Trent Richardson traded for a first-round pick, Deandre Hopkins traded for David Johnson and of course, the Antonio Brown trade to the Raiders. Nonetheless, we are gonna take a look at another trade that changed the landscape of the Bears franchise: The Mitchell Trubisky trade.

In 2017, the Bears traded the No. 3 pick, a third-rounder (No. 67), a fourth-rounder (No. 111) and a 2018 third-round pick (No. 70). In return, they got the No. 2 pick. So, for all of those picks, the Bears moved up one spot. ONE SPOT.

The Bears drafted Mitch Trubisky who, by every intent and purpose, was a true bust. A lot of the blame deserved to be put on the organization for not developing him. However, Trubisky was not a great quarterback also. He lacked great arm talent and he was a poor decision-maker on the field.


The biggest thing that made this move so bad for former Bears' gm Ryan Pace is that he did all of that to pass on Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes. Let's just say the Bears' future would be very different if they had drafted either one of these guys...
