VERY CONCERNING INJURY UPDATE FOR TWO OF THE BEARS TOP RECEIVERS

AUG 7, 2022  (7H51)      V. CARBONNEAU
On Saturday, we learned two very alarming reports from Hallas Hall concerning the wide receiver room.

First of all, Bears WR N'Keal Harry left practice today with an apparent injury. He needed help off the field from his teammates and trainers.

We also learned that WR Byron Pringle was out with a significant quad injury.

Both Pringle and Harry was projected to be major contributors to Luke Getsy's offense. Let's be honest, the wide receiver position was already one of the weakest parts of the roster and now this is clearly not helping.

As for Pringle, Larry Mayer noted that it could keep him out for a bit. And while HC Matt Eberflus later went on to add that there was optimism that Pringle could be ready for Week 1, it sure sounds like this is something that could keep Pringle out of action for at least the Bears' three preseason games. For a new player joining a new system, this is such bad news.

As for N'Keal Harry, the fact that he needed to be helped off by teammates isn't a good sign at all. Josh Schrock described it as something that «looked to be a significant leg injury.» Meanwhile, Brad Biggs tweeted that Harry «had difficulty putting any weight on his left leg» after being tackled by Eddie Jackson and Nicholas Morrow. The same goes for Harry as he was just starting to get acclimated to the new playbook.

It will be interesting to see if this is what pushes GM Ryan Poles to try and pursue a few other weapons in free agency to help make this offensive more explosives. After all, you need to have playmakers around a young stud QB like Justin Fields.
