Two big surprises on PFF Bears projected starting lineup!

PFF made a prediction of the starting lineup for the Chicago Bears. Here are the results:

Justin Fields‘ supporting cast is in the running for the worst in the NFL. The offensive line (examined in more detail below) has question marks at multiple positions, and the receiving corps is relying on secondary and tertiary options to punch above their weight as Fields' top options in the passing game.

The depth along the defensive line is the biggest concern on the other side of the ball. The Bears are missing a true pass-rushing threat at three-technique — a starting role currently filled by Justin Jones — and replace Khalil Mack with Al-Quadin Muhammad. Draft picks Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker do help solidify the secondary, though.

I am actually very surprised that they have Sam Mustipher and Equanimeous St. Brown starting on the offensive side of the ball.

I think Mustipher does not have the size nor the strength to be a starting guard in the NFL. While he is very intelligent, I don't see him starting. I know that the Bears are not loaded with talent at the guards, but I truly believe Dakota Dozier is a better player than Mustiphier at this point.

As for St. Brown, I have nothing against him, I just view him more as a WR4 or WR5. I think Velus Jones Jr. or Tajae Sharpe will be our WR3 if we don't make another addition.
