Approaching the conclusion of OTAs and on the brink of training camp, there's no position direr for improvement than the offensive line.

Cody Whitehair is set to secure his spot on the interior of the Bears line, where he has started since being drafted in 2016. Whitehair signed a 5-year 51 million dollar contract season heading into the 2019 season after he earned his line Pro Bowl nomination in the 2018 campaign.

Ryan Poles has made it his priority to clear up cap space as he revamps the roster to his liking. Whitehair avoiding being cut is promising for the former Pro Bowler and how the new regime feels about what he can bring to the line.

According to Pro Football Focus «, since 2016 Cody Whitehair has played 6,244 snaps, that's tied 9th among all internet lineman.» Whitehair has a history of struggling with his snaps at center, it's expected for him to fill the interior guard position and the newly signed Lucas Patrick to fill in at Center in 2022.

Despite some inconsistencies for Whitehair, he has panned out and been one of the more consistent pieces on the line season for the Bears. A bounce-back 2022 campaign is exactly what Justin Fields and this offense need as they look to gain momentum and establish an identity.
