Chicago Bears Safety Eddie Jackson Expresses Desire for Aaron Rodgers to Remain with Green Bay Packers

BY M. ROBITAILLE    MARCH 15, 2023  (11:10)
Chicago Bears safety Eddie Jackson is experiencing a different kind of offseason this year. The two-time Pro Bowler is rehabbing a Lisfranc injury to his left foot, while also watching his front office make waves in the offseason conversation. The team recently traded their No. 1 overall draft pick to the Panthers, receiving two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and receiver D.J. Moore in return. The Bears also agreed to sign four free agents on the first day of legal tampering.

Despite his injury, Jackson is excited for the upcoming season and playing with his new teammates. He's also keeping an eye on the uncertain future of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who he hopes will stay in Green Bay so that the Bears can beat him again. Rodgers has an impressive 25-5 record against the Bears, but Jackson was part of the team that clinched the NFC North title in 2018 with a win against the Packers.

«I want to see the look on his face when we beat him again,» he said. «We only got him one time in my career. To get him again, it'd be a great feeling.»

As for his injury, Jackson didn't give a timeline for his return but said that he's making good progress and can now run. He was also honored to receive the team's Ed Block Courage Award at a luncheon in Des Plaines. Overall, Jackson is optimistic about the Bears' direction and believes that the team's recent moves will bring more explosiveness to both sides of the ball.
