The Bears took home a week 2 preseason victory against the Seattle Seahawks with a 27-11 victory in what was a fantastic showing for the young team.

On the defensive side of the Ball, the Bears looked intense, playing with both speed and physicality, the playstyle Eberflus has been preaching all offseason. One of the most notable things was how well Bears defenders were wrapping up and tackling compared to years past. It is evident that work is being done in practice and camp. Guys were swarming the ball all game long making the job of Geno Smith and Jacob Eason extremely difficult. The Bears' defense forced the Seahawks to go 4-19 on third down and sacking the Seattle quarterbacks 3 times. The pressure up front was immense the whole game and Seattle was held to only 96 total yards rushing.

2nd round rookie CB Kyler Gordon made his preseason debut. Rookie linebacker Jack Sanborn continued to show out with 7 tackles and 2 pass defenses. DT Justin Jones who the Bears acquired from the Chargers in the offseason got active with 4 tackles and a pass breakup. Corner BoPete Keyes was targeted a bunch late in the game and while he gave up a big play late in the 4th, was able to reset with the next-play mentality and finished the game with 7 tackles and 2 pass defenses. The Bears held QB's Geno Smith and Jacob Eason to 74.3 and 59.3 passer ratings respectively, while also continuously setting up the Offense with great field position.

Not only did the Bears produce on offense and defense, but on special teams as well. Rooking WR Velus Jones had a 48-yard punt return and a 31-yard kick return, while Nsimba Webster had a 58-yard kick return. Furthermore, the Bears scored a special teams touchdown when the Seattle returner muffed the punt near the endzone. Cairo Santos went 2/2 for the night as well as 3/3 for extra points and punter Trenton Gill had 8 punts with 4 landing inside the 20 while only having one touchback. Great field position paired with all three phases of the ball winning made for an easy win against the rebuilding Seattle team.

The Bears have over a week to improve and prepare for the Cleveland Browns who they visit next Saturday.
