During the Chicago Bears' offseason, one of the main concerns has been at wide receiver position. It's very simple, there isn't that much talent.

GM Ryan Poles has taken a different approach than what some fans have wanted to see but insist he is trying to build this team back up the right way. Throughout the free agency period, the theme was to not hand out any massive contracts and, instead, leave yourself a lot of cap space for next year's off-season.

Last week, the Bears agreed to terms with two veteran wide receivers to give the team much-needed depth at the position. They brought in former San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants wide receiver Dante Pettis, along with veteran Tajae Sharpe who has played for three teams over his career.

Bears WR coach Tyke Tolbert had kind words on Pettis last week, during the team's interviews. Here is what he had to say.

«I think he's motivated to play, motivated to make plays,» Tolbert said. «I don't see him as a guy who is kind of bouncing around and just kind of happy to be in the league. I don't think that's him. He wants to go in there and compete and make plays.»

«I know his skill set,» Tolbert said. «it's just a matter for everybody else to see what I saw. It's a guy who can play inside and outside. A smart guy who can come in and learn the offense really quickly and bring some veteran presence. He has some vet savviness to him when he's running his routes. Every time he had the opportunity to make a play with us with the giants, he did.»
